Southern Spiced Pecans

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter 1-1/2 tsps ground cumin 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper 3 cups pecan halves 2 tbsps sugar 1 tsp salt

Method

In a large skillet, melt butter. Add the cumin and cayenne; cook and stir for 1 min. Remove from the heat; stir in the pecans, sugar and salt until well coated. Spread in a single layer in a greased baking pan. Bake at 300 for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Cool. Store in an airtight container. Makes 3 cups

Notes

Auntie Dora used to make this type of nut. They were really good! I am looking for a recipe......haven't tried this yet (10/01/06) but will make them for Xmas this year.
