Tea Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour 1 tbsp white sugar 4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup tenderflake shortening 1 beaten egg 2/3 cup milk

Method

Sift together all the dry ingredients and cut in shortening until it resembles coarse crumbs. Combine the beaten egg and milk and add to the flour mixture all at once. Stir til the batter follows the fork around in the bowl. Put flour on counter and put dough on it and flatten to about 3/4" in thickness. Cut into rounds and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 450 10 to 15 minutes

Notes

This is Bushka's recipe. If you want to make it a little more buttery I believe you can get a buttery tenderflake which would make the dough yellower.
