Cinnamon Baked French Toast
Ingredients
1 - 2 loaves cinnamon raisin bread 8 large eggs 2 cups milk 1/2 cup heavy cream 1/2 to full brick cream cheese Streusal Topping (I don't think this is required, too sweet but I have made it with this on top) 1/2 cup four 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup cold butter cut into pieces
Method
grease a 9x13 pan cut the bread into cubes and evenly space in the pan. Cut up the cream cheese and place in between the chunks of bread....this is to your own taste how much you put. In large bowl mix the eggs, milk, cream, Pour evenly over bread. Cover and place in refrigerator overnight or for several hours. Streusel... Mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add butter pieces and cut into the dry mixture using a fork or hands. Combine until the mixture resembles sand a few pea sized chunks. Cover and store in fridge. oven 350 Sprinkle crumb mixture over the top. BAke 45-55 minutes or until toast is set and brown Serve with butter and maple syrup
Notes
I don't think this recipe requires the streusel on top. I have made it both ways and prefer without otherwise it is extremely sweet
